EMDR Therapy for Processing Trauma
Does Grace's House Counseling provide EMDR therapy for trauma processing?
Yes, Grace’s House offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to help process traumatic events, including medical trauma and traumatic loss.
EMDR can help the brain process difficult or upsetting memories that may feel “stuck.” Just as the body can struggle when food is not properly digested, the brain can struggle when painful memories have not been fully processed. Unlike traditional talk therapy, this approach does not require clients to describe their trauma in detail (reliving the trauma in the process) or analyze it for long periods.
EMDR supports the healing process by helping these memories become less overwhelming, allowing you to be more present in daily life rather than continuing to respond as though you are still living in the traumatic experience.
