Integrated Faith-based Therapy

Does Grace's House Counseling integrate faith-based approaches into their therapy sessions?

Yes, as a licensed therapist, I specialize in supporting people who feel overwhelmed by a medical diagnosis, are caring for a parent or child, or are carrying the cumulative impact of trauma from work in the medical field or as first responders.

For many clients, these experiences also raise questions about faith, meaning, and where God fits into their healing. I believe a relationship with God can be an important part of living a fulfilled life, while also respecting each person’s beliefs and comfort level. Clients are always invited to decide whether they would like faith to be part of the counseling process.

During the initial assessment, I often use the FICA Spiritual History Tool developed by Dr. Christina Puchalski. This brief assessment helps me individualize treatment in a way that honors your beliefs and clarifies how, if at all, you would like your faith integrated into counseling.

F - Faith or Beliefs: Do you have spiritual beliefs? What gives your life meaning?
I - Importance and Influence: How important is this in your life? Does it influence how you care for your mental health?
C - Community: Are you part of a spiritual or religious community?
A - Address: How would you like your counselor to address these spiritual needs?

If you have additional questions, please feel free to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. I would be happy to talk with you and help determine whether Grace’s House Counseling is the right fit for your needs.
